Taking part in HELIUS

By taking part in HELIUS, you are helping to increase the knowledge on the causes of chronic and other diseases. This knowledge is urgently needed so that health care can be improved in the future for you, your children, and your grandchildren. What's more, you will receive a number of personal results from the examination. These results give information about important risk factors for cardiovascular disease, like your blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar level.

We would like to present to you some of the results of the HELIUS study. Within the HELIUS study, we have, amongst others, investigated health disparities between men and women. Would you like to know what we have learned so far from the HELIUS study about differences between men and women in the occurrence of cardiovascular diseases and kidney damage? And would you like to know how these results may help to improve the health of Amsterdam citizens?
